Triton appoints compliance head after incumbent pivots to ESG – exclusive

Moana Moore joined as partner with responsibility for compliance oversight and money laundering reporting on November 6.

Triton, a European private and public equity investment firm, has appointed a new head of compliance after the previous holder of the position transferred to an ESG-focused role, pfm has learned.

Moana Moore joined as partner with responsibility for compliance oversight and money laundering reporting on November 6, according to the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority register. She served as global head of compliance at credit-focused asset manager CQS for almost four years until her departure in October, Financial News reported at the time.

Moore’s appointment comes after Triton’s former compliance head, Amandeep Singh Johal, transitioned to the firm’s ESG team to focus on value creation at the portfolio company level, according to a source with knowledge of the firm. Johal, an 11-year veteran of Triton, will serve as legal counsel – portfolio governance.

Triton declined to comment.

Moore was formerly head of compliance at London-based asset manager Arrowgrass Capital Partners, which has more than $3.5 billion of assets under management, according to the company’s LinkedIn profile.

Triton is seeking at least €3 billion for its fifth flagship vehicle, sister publication Private Equity International reported in June. The firm’s portfolio comprises 36 companies across Denmark, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, Norway and Sweden.
