They’re hired: this week’s people moves

SilverStreet Capital, a UK-based private equity firm, has hired Sarah-Jane Miller as general counsel. She joined in January, but the firm announced the move this week, along with the third close of its Silverlands II fund. Miller joined the firm from Private Oil & Gas Investment, where she was senior legal counsel.

Northern Trust Asset Management named Keishi Yamamoto as its new head of Japan. He joins the firm from Wellington Management Japan, where he had been head of pensions for a decade. He replaces Hidehiro Nakayama, who will retire from the role later this year.

In Northern Trust’s London office, the firm has appointed Andrew Brown as head of relationship management for its global fund services division. He joins from a short-term consultancy posting with Tesco Pensions Investments. Prior to this, he worked for Aviva Investors as director of global fund services.

Ben Griffiths has joined MUFG Investor Services as global head of fund financing in London. He will lead the team’s offering to private equity and hedge fund clients. Griffiths joins from Citco Financial Products, a subsidiary of Citco Group, where he was managing director and chief executive, responsible for lending and foreign exchange solutions.

Temasek International, the asset management arm of the Singapore sovereign wealth fund, has announced a round of senior promotions, including naming Chia Song Hwee as chief operating officer and president. He will continue in his role as joint head of investment and portfolio management.

Global law firm Linklaters has appointed Tom Alabaster as a partner in its investment management group, specialising in private equity fund formation. He joins the firm from Latham & Watkins, where he was a senior counsel, working in London and New York. He has also practiced at Slaughter & May and Debevoise & Plimpton. He joins in London.
