Rothschild taps Credit Suisse for tech chiefs

Chris Gaertner and Walid Khiari will join as global head and director of technology, respectively.

Rothschild, an international investment advisory firm, has appointed Chris Gaertner as its inaugural global head of technology in its global advisory group.

He will be joined by Walid Khiari, as director of technology. They will be based in the firm’s new San Francisco office, which Gaertner will lead.

The pair join from Credit Suisse where they held the same roles. They previously worked at Merrill Lynch where Gaertner was global head of technology and Khiari vice-president of technology investment banking.

San Francisco is the second new office the firm has opened in the past 12 months, following a launch in Chicago in September.

Rothschild & Co advises private equity firms, family offices and other entities in deal financing and structuring, as well as providing asset management services.
