ACA Compliance enters the software game

Third party service provider news: CT Partners loses a senior recruiter; Alter Domus opens in Germany; more

• Compliance consultancy ACA Compliance Group acquired New York-based software provider NorthPoint Financial. Following the transaction, NorthPoint Financial will become part of newly-formed ACA Technology Solutions, which will develop technology products and services for financial services firms. All employees, including the NorthPoint Financial leadership team, will join ACA as part of this transaction. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

• Recruitment firm CTPartners named Michel Deschapelles as partner in its Miami office. Prior to joining CTPartners, Deschapelles worked at rival recruitment firm Egon Zehnder where he was a consultant.

• At the same time CTPartners has lost senior executive recruiter, Cornelia Kiley, who has left the firm to launch CLKiley Associates, a rival recruitment firm focused on the alternative investment market and the real estate sector in particular.

• Private equity placement agent BerchWood Partners has made two new hires and three promotions. Russell Breuer, formerly of investment firm Zephyr Management, has joined the firm as a vice president. Brian Infante, who joins from Boston-based MIDIOR Consulting, is joining as an analyst. BerchWood has also named Alexander Chaplin as a principal and promoted both Kyle Abel and François Rowell to vice president.

• Private equity, infrastructure and real estate fund administration firm Alter Domus promoted Davinia Smith to country executive for its UK office. Smith, previously a director at the firm, will be responsible for expanding new and existing client relationships in the region.

Alter Domus has also opened a new office in Düsseldorf, Germany, which will be led Jörg Stuckart.

• “Big Four” audit firm Deloitte appointed Chris Nicholls as a partner in its equity capital markets team. Nicholls joins from JPMorgan Cazenove where he was an executive director.

• Investment bank Evercore is expanding its private funds activities in the Asia Pacific region, hiring two people in its Hong Kong office. Evercore has hired Credit Suisse executive Ian Bell as a managing director to lead distribution and origination work across Asia Pacific. Bell will be supported by Manda Chan, who Evercore hired from MVision Private Equity Advisors.

• Investment research firm Edison hired Rachel Carroll as global head of investor access and Paul Glover as senior account director. Carroll joins from finance and debt advisory services firm Solas Development Services, while Glover joins from investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald.

Markit | Genpact KYC Services appointed Jon May as its chief executive. He joins the compliance tech software provider from Goldman Sachs where he was a managing director and global head of client onboarding in India. May will join the firm in January and be based in its London office.

JC Rathbone Associates, a risk consultancy, appointed Jonathan Lye as a London-based director. Lye joins from financial advisory firm Chatham Financial where he was a capital markets consultant, focused on interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives and hedging.
