Reed Smith boosts PE team in Paris

The firm has hired an eight strong tax team from Winston & Strawn, bringing its Paris headcount to 66.

Reed Smith, a global law firm, has hired a team of eight tax lawyers for its Paris office.

The team, led by three partners, Jean-Pierre Collet, Florence Bilger and David Colin, provide tax advice for investment funds and private equity transactions.

Their appointments follow the hiring of 15 senior private equity lawyers from restructured law firm King & Wood Mallesons in January, with six joining in Paris.

Also in the legal space, global law firm Dorsey & Whitney has added to its senior private equity teams in Dallas and Minneapolis. Kevin Dooley is joining the firm as senior counsel in Minneapolis, while Stuart Chasanoff and Melissa Hicks Hutchison will be added to the firm’s new Dallas office as counsel. All three join from US law firm Schiff Hardin.
