eVestment launches streamlined data reporting platform

Data analytics provider eVestment has launched a private equity platform for data collection and reporting, pfm has learned.

Private Markets Alliance is a platform which allows general partners to report their fund performance data and distribute it to the investors and consultants of their choice. It should streamline a GP’s data reporting procedure, and lessen the amount of time required to respond to data requests from limited partners.

The platform also allows LPs and consultants to compare funds, supporting their GP selection due diligence.

“Investors and consultants need access to granular information and are overwhelming fund managers’ investor relations resources,” eVestment co-founder Heath Wilson said.

The Atlanta-based service provider worked with a consortium of 11 industry consultants, who advise on over $8 trillion in assets, to build the system. These consultants include Angeles Investment Advisors, Colonial Consulting, and Ellwood Associates.

eVestment primarily provides institutional investment data and analytics, and also has offices in London, Hong Kong, New York, Sydney, Dubai and Edinburgh.

Its institutional clients include UK asset manager Aberdeen Asset Management, US-based asset manager BlackRock, US public pension fund California Public Employees’ Retirement System and large-cap private equity firm Permira.
