Amadeus introduces general counsel role

The private equity shop recruited the former legal counsel at Balderton Capital to fill the new position.

Amadeus Capital Partners, a UK-based private equity firm focused on technology investments, appointed Carl Dickinson to the new role of in-house general counsel. Dickinson will be responsible for the firm’s legal, regulatory and related administrative affairs.

Specifically, Dickinson will help in the negotiation and execution of transactions, as well as fund management documentation. The general counsel role will also address the need for greater transparency in firm activities, according to a statement from Amadeus.

“With investments in emerging markets as well as in the US, across Europe and in the UK, we are conscious of the need to have robust legal oversight of all our transactions and to address the wish of investors to have more and better information, as noted by ILPA [the Institutional Limited Partners’ Association]. [Dickinson] will be an invaluable support in both,” said Amadeus chief executive Anne Glover.

Dickinson joins from venture capital firm Balderton Capital, where he served as legal counsel for two years, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before joining Balderton, he had worked at SJ Berwin (now King & Wood Mallesons) as a senior associate focused on private equity and venture capital.
