Elian hires head of HK fund admin

A former Citibank auditor will lead the Hong Kong team at the fund services provider.

Elian, formerly known as Ogier Fiduciary Services, appointed Kathy Cheng as a new associate director to oversee its fund services team in Hong Kong.

Cheng, who has more than 10 years of experience in auditing, banking and finance joins Elian from Citibank, where she led a team of fund accountants handling private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds and fund of funds. Previously, she held auditor positions at banks and “Big Four” accounting firms, according to a press release from Elian.

“[Cheng] is a highly motivated individual with a strong technical private equity fund accounting and operations background. I have every confidence that she will help grow Elian’s fund services team and reinforce Elian's position as a major player in the Hong Kong fund services sector,” said Elian chief operating officer in Hong Kong Graham Gurney.

Cheng is the second major hire for Elian’s Hong Kong office in the past three months. In August, Jennifer Pau joined as an associate director. Since spinning out from Ogier in September 2014, Elian has been steadily growing its team in its 11 office locations across the globe.
