Volhard returns to Debevoise

Nixon Peabody and DLA Piper have also hired private equity lawyers.

Three law firms have made private funds hires.

Patricia Volhard, a private funds regulatory lawyer, is returning to Debevoise to work in both its Frankfurt and London offices. She joins from Pöllath + Partners Frankfurt office, and was previously an associate at Debevoise in Paris and Frankfurt.

Volhard chairs Invest Europe’s financial services/regulatory working group, before which she was chair of its tax, legal & regulatory committee.

Nixon Peabody has appointed David Brown as managing partner in its Chicago office. Brown is a private equity transactions partner at the firm, who began his career as an attorney at Chicago firm Gould & Rattner.

DLA Piper has bolstered its corporate team with Jeff Legault, a private equity lawyer who joins from Mayer Brown. He will be based in the firm’s New York office and advises on private equity transactions as well as representing clients before the SEC.
