Peter Slagt, a partner at global management consulting firm Bain & Company, has relocated from London to Kuala Lumpur to drive transformation and change programmes among the firm’s clients in South-East Asia, the firm said in a statement.
Slagt will work in Bain’s Kuala Lumpur office as a leader in the firm’s Global Results Delivery Practice, and will focus on supporting South-East Asia-based companies in their large-scale business transformations.
Slagt has spent more than 20 years advising companies in Europe and Africa. In addition to private equity, Slagt’s sector knowledge includes energy, telecom, banking, consumer goods and retail. He joined Bain in 2011 from rival consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he served as partner for more than 15 years. At McKinsey he was head of the Northern European practice as well as head of Africa and Benelux, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before becoming a consultant, he was a Royal Dutch Navy career officer for 10 years.
Bain advises private equity, infrastructure, real estate, debt and hedge fund transactions. In the last decade, the firm has advised half of all global buyout transactions valued at more than $500 billion.
