Alter Domus launches Luxembourg ManCo

The global fund services group has acquired Luxembourg Fund Partners to set up in the country as a manager.

Alter Domus, a global fund and corporate services provider, has launched a management services unit in Luxembourg through the acquisition of local management firm Luxembourg Fund Partners.

The move into management company sector follows the firm’s expansion into the US in February, when it acquired CARTA Fund Services, a spin-out of Portfolio Advisors, the US private equity firm.

The latest deal, the strike price of which is undisclosed, is subject to Luxembourg regulatory approval.

Several of the firm’s competitors have expanded into the management company sector – including Heritage, which launched its service in August.

Competition in Luxembourg’s fund services market is growing, with Estera opening in Luxembourg in August and MJ Hudson opening a fund services unit in the country earlier this month.
