Lawyer moves: Kirkland, MoFo, K&L hire

Daniel Dusek has joined Kirkland & Ellis in Hong Kong as a partner.

Kirkland & Ellis, a global law firm, has appointed Daniel Dusek as a partner in its corporate practice in Hong Kong.

He joins the firm from the Beijing office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He practiced at Skadden for over 16 years, and made partner in its New York office in 2008. His clients have included Hillhouse Capital Management.

Elsewhere, Morrison Foerster announced the appointment of Rob Mailer as an investment funds partner in London. His practice focuses on fund formation and fund management. He joins the firm from King & Wood Mallesons, where he worked for over 11 years.

Mailer’s clients have included Oxx VC, the Amadeus Capital Partners spin out firm which launched in January. Other recent clients include Apis Partners and Lonsdale Capital Partners.

In Milan, K&L Gates have appointed Giovanni Meschia in its investment funds and private equity practice, as a partner. He joins from the Milan office of Jones Day, a global law firm.
