Lawyers on the move

Cooley, K&L Gates and Goodwin Procter have boosted their global private equity practices.

Cooley and K&L Gates have added new private equity lawyers to their rosters.

K&L Gates hired James Lee as a private equity partner in New York. He advises GPs and LPs, as well as structuring private equity transactions. He joins from Goodwin Procter.

Ray LaSoya has joined Cooley as a private equity transactions partner in Los Angeles. He was previously with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. His clients include Platinum Equity.

Alexandrine Armstrong-Cerfontaine has joined Goodwin Procter as a freelance consultant in Luxembourg, according to a source familiar with the matter. Armstrong-Cerfontaine was a private equity partner at restructured law firm King & Wood Mallesons. She joined KWM to set up the firm’s Luxembourg office in 2013, which focused on private equity, funds and tax.

Prior to this, she managed her own law firm in Luxembourg, Armstrong Cerfontaine Avocats.
