Idinvest Partners has appointed Guillaume Cavalin as legal director from Jones Day, its second recent hire from the law firm.

Cavalin will assist in the structuring and the fundraising of investment vehicles and will advise the partners of the Paris-based firm on legal matters.

Cavalin was a senior associate at Jones Day where he worked across the legal and tax structuring of private equity, infrastructure and debt funds. He also spent three years in Japan working for law firms Laurent Dubois Foreign Law Office and White & Case, and four years in Luxembourg at Linklaters.

In November Idinvest appointed Caroline Steil as a senior legal advisor from Jones Day.

In October 2016 Julien Princi joined the firm as general counsel from Amundi Asset Management.

In February last year the European mid-market investor opened a new office in Frankfurt and added two new members to its private debt team as part of the move. In the same month the firm opened its first China office in Shanghai.
