Private fund managers

Northern Pacific Group, a Minnesota-based private equity firm, has promoted Corey Campbell to chief financial officer. He joined the firm a year ago as a controller, before which he worked for the Valspar Corporation and Lurie LLP.

Anthony Lubiano has been hired as CFO at California-based private credit and growth equity firm Lateral Investment Management. He previously spent six years as vice president of finance and fund controller at KKR, and nine years at the venture capital firm Vantage Point Capital Partners.

Former US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew has joined Lindsey Goldberg as a partner, following Tim Geithner, who joined Walberg Pincus as president, into private equity. He will focus on investments, institutional relationships and firm management.

Ardenton Capital has hired Charles Omonua as business development manager. He previously worked at Charlemagne Capital for 10 years, where he marketed long-only and hedge funds, and at Coutts as a fund researcher.

Service providers

Aztec Group, an independent fund and corporate services provider, has appointed private equity expert Gavin Hayman as a director in Guernsey. He joins from Ipes, where he was chief financial officer and a member of the board.

Dutch fund administrator Intertrust has appointed the former head of fund services at JPMorgan and GC Legend, Stephanie Miller, as chief executive. She joins from SS&C Technologies, where she was senior vice president for sales implementation and strategy.

Edwin Chan has also left SS&C Technologies to spearhead sales across the EMEA region for Northern Trust. He will focus on the group’s private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and debt fund asset servicing products.

Law firms

Adam Ghander has joined DLA Piper in Boston as corporate partner. Previously private equity group co-chair at Nutter McClennen & Fish, and an associate at Goodwin Procter, he focuses on helping public companies with large transactions, mid-market and early stage transactions and investments for emerging companies and investors.

McGuireWoods has hired seven finance lawyers from New York real estate boutique Cassin & Cassin. Partners Thomas Lansen, Dennis Mensi and Alice Youngbar are among the hires, along with four associates. The team’s clients include private equity firms and hedge funds.

Erica Berthou, global head of Debevoise’s investment management and funds group, and the firm’s deputy corportate chair Jordan Murray have joined Kirkland and Ellis as partners in New York. Berthou recently advised The Blackstone Group on its five-month, $6.5 billion fundraise for GSO Capital Opportunities Fund III.

Private equity lawyer Julie Jones has become Ropes & Gray’s first female board chair. She will serve as chair elect until 2020, when she will replace Bradford Malt. Jones recently took the lead on TPG’s $2 billion sale of Iasis Healthcare to Steward Health Care Systems.

Clifford Chance has added two private equity partners to its Sydney office. Hogan Lovell’s Andrew Crook and Herbert Smith Freehill’s Mark Currell will join the firm in 2018. Crook represents private equity firms on investments in Australian mining and natural resources, while Currell advises private equity investors on acquisitions and disposals.
