Cogent hires executive in New York

The private equity investment bank has expanded its New York office with the hiring of former placement agent executive Jonathan Jameson.

Cogent Partners has hired former Pinnacle Trust Partners executive Jonathan Jameson as a managing director in the New York office.

The office, which is led by managing director Bill Murphy, has six investment professionals.

At Pinnacle, a placement agency focused on alternative investments, Jameson was a partner primarily responsible for covering limited partners throughout the US and also was involved in the firm’s new business development efforts and project management of select fundraising assignments.

Prior to Pinnacle, Jameson worked as a director at Probitas Partners, where he was involved in all facets of the business including distribution of primary fund offerings, sourcing of secondary mandates and business development.

He also worked in senior positions in the private placement groups at Rothschild and the former Credit Suisse First Boston.
