Pantheon expands operations teams

The fund of funds manager has made 32 new hires this year, including senior execs from Goldman Sachs, M&G and Duff & Phelps.

London-headquartered fund of funds manager Pantheon has hired three heads to lead new business units.

All new appointments report to Julian Holdsworth, who currently leads Pantheon’s global operations, and now has responsibility for six departments, including four that have been newly created.

The four new units include, US operations, valuation and data control, reporting, performance and analytics and client operations management.

Shoshana Lubin has joined the firm as head of US operations in the firm’s New York office. Lubin joins Pantheon from CAIS Group, a platform that provides access to alternative investments, where she worked for six years.

In her new role, Lubin will be responsible for the firm’s new business initiatives in the US, including its defined contribution and private wealth activities, as well as the firm’s funds business in the US, which includes strategic partnerships and separate account clients, according to a statement from the firm.

In London, Paul Roberts has joined the firm as head of valuation and data control and will be responsible for six team heads, including Andrew Taylor, who joins the firm as head of reconciliation and data management from M&G Investment Management and former Duff & Phelps vice president Rishi Shah, who has been named head of valuation analytics.

Roberts joins Pantheon from Goldman Sachs, where he worked for over 12 years as executive director and was responsible co-ordinating and overseeing the launches of offshore funds, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Also in London, the firm has hired Dominic Geddes as head of reporting, performance and analytics. Geddes will be responsible for three teams, including the newly created client onboarding team, which is currently in the process of recruiting a leader.

The firm will also shortly appoint a head of its fourth new unit, client operations management, a spokesperson told pfm.

The existing treasury and transactions team is led by the company's treasurer, Matt Lowman, and the existing two heads of the change management team heads report to Holdsworth.

Pantheon has made a total of 32 new hires this year. This includes four professionals with functional or team responsibility, and 11 new hires into the global investment team, including newly created business analyst roles to support the business and transaction management activities of the team, according to the statement.

As of March 31 2016, Pantheon manages $34.3 billion of assets on behalf of public and private pension plans, insurance companies, endowments and foundations.
