iCapital expands product and tech teams

The company – which connects wealthy individuals with private equity firms – has added three across its product and technology teams

Financial technology business iCapital Network has added a product head, product management director and head of platform architecture to its office in New York.

iCapital is a platform that provides access to alternative investments. It offers a selection of private equity funds and hedge funds, due diligence support and research tools to a private member network of qualified investors, family offices, registered investment advisors and broker-dealers.

The firm is backed by a group of placement agents including, FIRSTavenue, Capstone Partners and Monument Group, who together evaluate over 750 private equity managers each year, according to iCapital’s website.

Eli Entin joins the firm as senior vice-president and head of product from non-bank small business lender OnDeck Capital, where he worked for seven years. During his tenure he created an online lending platform for small businesses resulting in OnDeck becoming the largest New York-based fintech IPO. In his new role he will oversee and lead the strategic direction for the firm’s flagship platform.

Also joining the product team is Kevin Scrivanich, who joins the firm as director of product management. He will spearhead the platform’s features and user experience, and work with the design, product and technology teams to implement best practices in development and design, according to a statement from the firm.

Mike November has been hired as head of platform architecture. He joins the firm from investment management firm Bridgewater Associates, where he worked for 8 months. Prior to this he worked at Goldman Sachs for over 28 years. In his new role he will be responsible for technical integrations with the firm’s key platform partnerships.

“iCapital is increasing our already significant investment in technology as we consolidate our position as the industry’s preferred alternative platform,” Lawrence Calcano, chief executive officer of iCapital Network said in the statement. “As the high-net-worth community increasingly becomes a critical source of capital for alternative asset managers, there is a growing need for state-of-the-art technology to support a broader user base with different needs.”
